Have something to say about forums.debian.net itself?

now debian plaza and debian web forums merged as in this weeks DWN told. will debian plaza name and logo change? according to me this debian plaza logo is very ugly and must be changed with a good logo for forums.debian.net.

My idea is to get the Debian logo plain the left-top corner, possibly with some artwork 'forums.' ... '.net' in it, and put debian plaza's logo, together with any possible further merged forum's logo's, below on the mainpage, just above the copyright notice.

I don't know yet what Mark's (the Debianplaza founder) opinion is on it, he might have other idea's.

I must say; I'm not proud of my "art-work", but it wasn't my goal to make some flashy eye-candy. The main goal is to provide a forum that has a user-friendly interface.
I think it would be a great idea to see if someone here on these forums can make a great logo so we can put it in the left corner.
So...

2 everybody : Please feel free to make a "forums.debian.net" logo and we'll see if we will replace the current logo with yours.

A bit to red, and the logo isn't clean... to flashy, in my opinion, not enough professional... but nice try, that's a good point. Thanks for help.

I like the artwork PL99, but I do believe it is not in the philisophy of Debian.
It should be more modest in my humble opinion.
When I need to pick one, I would pick number 4.

I suggest to remove the pinguins from the original forum logo. Plain and simple.

Well I'd like to go for either #3 or, what Maurice stated, a plain logo without the pinguins.

My try:

I think a forum logo shouldn't be shouting at you, it distracts from the thing you came for: browsing the forum...

Edit: well, the penguin rises above the community (that's why you only see a part of it, because tux grew huge ;)) as one great loving, Debian-loving cuddly pengthingy. The Debian swirl rises in his eyes ;).

Very nice indeed!
Can we set up a poll for changing the logo?

Ofcourse I've got it all in XCF, so the 'plaza' could be replaced with 'forums' or something...

The logo from roeland is much better, only the curl in the eye seems too big. Wouldn't look better when you make the debbie curl slightly smaller?

Tried that, but I liked this better.

Edit: http://www.linux-box.nl/~roeland/art/de ... lswirl.png

The best I could get with a smaller swirl, even after rotation, the swirl wouldn't fit nicely into the white part of the eye...
