 Come on. I know you're smarter than that.

If you knew nothing about Debian and you stumbled across this forum, wouldn't you assume that it's part of the Debian Project?
.
Yeah, I guess. But if people are scared away from debian because they don't like the logo on the forums... I dunno, maybe they should go live in a box or something.

What a silly poll and even sillier thread.

I vote no.

Look up the meaning of de facto.

You can't be serious, you know design does matter. People and companies care about their image, for many, their brand is their greatest asset.
I can easily block a logotype, the point is that I care about the forum and that logotype didn't add value. In your terms, while it might not scare people away, it might not please them either.

As for the negative effect of Psychotux on the community, I don't recall all that many complaints.

When I came here for the first time, I knew for sure that it isn't official. I was looking for a link on http://www.debian.org and didn't find one, so that means that there's no official forum that must be clear to everyone. And that .net confirmes it.

Back on topic: What about temporary Tuz with some swirls :D ? Who will volunteer to design it? (I'd do that but I don't know a **** about computer graphics...)

And BTW the old penguin is cool! And I want him back.
Because let’s face it, the unfortunate aspect of software development is that it involves humans. Mewling, disorganized, miserably analog humans. Sometimes they smell bad.

I don't know why but I find Tuz logo infinitely amusing. That fake beak and the rope crack me up every time. Maybe seeing it in larger size (the image BioTube posted), helps me to appreciate the artwork even more. In fact I would most likely vote Tuz for the new Linux logo, if such a poll was ever to happen.

But back on topic. I'm afraid I was never really into Psychotux myself, but I don't hate it either. So I'll sleep through this poll.
Q: Why is the Eunux kernel so bloated?
A: It was made in the image of its founder.

Yeah but we are used to him. Some have looked at its crazy expression for years. I've personally clicked on his ugly face so many times - once it almost got stuck onto the pointer, almost.

Huh?
You mean like a pointer in memory, or your cursor?

Reminds me of the phrase "Abandon all hope, ye who enters here" or how it goes.

In most forums, and even most websites, clicking on the logo will bring you back to the home page.

I never used it on here though, I have debian forums on my bookmark bar, so I just clicked it there.
