Debian User Forums

This is an official petition to bring back the good old penguin logo!!
If you want the good old logo back, check either "Yes" on the poll. (both Yes's will be added together)

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about (for whatever reaon...) here it is:

I seriously believe that the former forum logotype featuring a penguin with the Debian swirl within its left eye was poorly designed and didn't add value to the forum aesthetics, something important if you consider that this is the de facto forum of the Debian community. I think my opinion is shared by other community members who want to improve the forum.

But the forum isn't officially part of the debian software foundation, or whatever it is, anyway. that is why it is .net, not .org.

At first I thought it was a post against Tux.

If you knew nothing about Debian and you stumbled across this forum, wouldn't you assume that it's part of the Debian Project?

Yeah, I guess. But if people are scared away from debian because they don't like the logo on the forums... I dunno, maybe they should go live in a box or something.

You can't be serious, you know design does matter. People and companies care about their image, for many, their brand is their greatest asset.
I can easily block a logotype, the point is that I care about the forum and that logotype didn't add value. In your terms, while it might not scare people away, it might not please them either.

As for the negative effect of Psychotux on the community, I don't recall all that many complaints.

When I came here for the first time, I knew for sure that it isn't official. I was looking for a link on http://www.debian.org and didn't find one, so that means that there's no official forum that must be clear to everyone. And that .net confirmes it.

Back on topic: What about temporary Tuz with some swirls ? Who will volunteer to design it? (I'd do that but I don't know a **** about computer graphics...)

And BTW the old penguin is cool! And I want him back.
