I'm sorry to hear you have a medical issue, but this is gonna be fun now watching all the lil roaches come running for the job!

Another thank for your work (and tolerance and especially sense of humour!), Tina.

Are you going to hang around with us - even as a regular user?
Because let’s face it, the unfortunate aspect of software development is that it involves humans. Mewling, disorganized, miserably analog humans. Sometimes they smell bad.

I'm really sorry to hear that Lavene is leaving! She has really been a role model for how a good admin should be. If she is leaving the forum completely, her posts will be greatly missed!

I'll just add my thanks as well. She's a great board admin and will be missed.

I'll also add a vote for gnudude as a replacement - although he'd gave some big shoes to fill.

sheesh it was a joke...

I wasnt serious anyway....I dont think I could handle it....and I know a bunch of others couldn't handle it... I would be too worried over every action/decision and it would drive me nuts.....more nuts anyway....I would be afraid that I wasn't being fair and even worse that I was unable to realize that I wasn't being fair...

mzilikazi has been hanging around a lot more lately and I think he is the likely candidate and I think he would be a good choice...he seems to be a fairly hands-off kind of mod...then again who knows what happens if he becomes an admin...

tele would be a great guy
heck even julian
brotiag isnt a bad guy either
absent minded would want to cover everything with politeness and warm fuzzys

aww heck, do we even need a overlord? Lets all self-moderate.....it wont make you go blind or give you hairy palms

(sexual innuendo included specifically for effect)

mzilikazi or telemachus are probably the best choices, the rest of proposals I'm sure are (bad) jokes.

Lavene, sorry to hear you leave.

Wow ... I am really sorry to see you go, Tina. Ever since our days on the Kanotix boards, you've been one of my favorite web acquaintances. Always a terrific contributor, and a great mod. I sincerely hope whatever those issues may be that led to this get resolved quickly.

Whew! That prospect really had me worried. :)

You probably know what I meant, now, why do you waste our time and the electrons over the Internet?

LOL

Thank you for the thought. I am not sure I would be that bad but unless I am elected I am not upto nominating myself. I don't have a problem with everyone the way they are... Well, almost everyone. I have to admit that there is one person here that really chaps me and it would be difficult for me not to ban them if I gave them a warning and they didn't comply. However, that person even bothered Tina conciderably so I am not allone in feeling this way about them.

I am afraid that I would have to keep you around GNUDude as your benifits outway the hardline you ride. :-)

Lighten up, please. Merely trying to inject a little humor in a somber thread.

@ Lavene

I'm sorry to hear that you're going to stand down as an admin of this board, because you've been a good, fair and non-oppressive admin here. Despite resigning as admin, I do hope you can stick around here.

I forget where she said it, but evidently the cat had just got home from the vet and discovered he(she?) was a little lighter...

I have a good mind to visit her abode. Just kidding.

Best wishes and good luck Lavene.
