Immediate logout after login?

Hey guys,

For some reason Iceweasel 3.5.5 on my Squeeze box (2.6.26) shows a strange quirk on this forum; logging in works just fine, but as soon as I'm redirected (from the page stating I've successfully logged in) I'm logged out. Actually, I'm logged out even before that point. The strange thing is that the board shows me as logged in - so obviously I really did. The browser just doesn't seem to agree. I did notice that every page has a different sid; if that stands for session id, than that's really bad.

Tried it with epiphany; that works fine. Also, I'm now posting from my laptop with the same setup except the kernel (2.6.30) - no problem here. This does seem to be a problem related to my browser, but I just thought I should let you guys know in case someone else turns up with the same problem. By the way, I tried to 'clear all cookies' as the board offered it to me, but alas, 'twas to no avail.

There's really no urge for me here, I can post just as merrily - but I'll be happy to supply more information deemed relevant!I truly could not decide whether this should go in Forum stuff & feedback or a normal forum (eg Desktop) but then again, I hope it can be of use in case there are others stuck like me.

Within Iceweasel: Edit > Preferences > Privacy > Accept cookies (3rd party ones aren't needed).

Thanks for the suggestion. FIrefox was set to 'Remember History', which should include cookies - using the custom settings to ensure they're enabled yields no different results.

It would make sense if it were a cookie related problem.. strange.

Try deleting all the cookies for this forum , there is a link on the bottom of each forum page. I've had errant cookies mess me up before.

As I cryptically wrote in the original post, I did delete all the cookies. No changes though.

Still using the almighty epiphany for this forum..

Try clearing your cache

Probably, the browser is using the old page after your are redirected from the login page. Have you tried refreshing using the "shift + refresh button using mouse"?
