The search function doesn't work and this seems to happen a lot.
Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.
I have to google my problem as the only option now.

That happens very often to me, and it is annoying.
An easy way out is to use any online search-engine and type:
With "installing from pendrive" being just an example and "site:forums.debian.net" being the secret handshake.
For that searchengine (lxquick) you would need to click on <proxy> to go to the side. Google is a bit more comfortable.

There is a lot of verbage on the forum that the preferred search of the forums is:
