1000th post

#1 Post by jheaton5 »

I know you don't care. I know it is a meaningless milestone. It's not even as telling as my car rolling over to 100,000 miles as it did a month ago. But, I'm pleased at reaching this milestone.

My apologies for taking up your time with my vain and frivolous narcissism. :)

Congratulations. For reaching 1000 you have won a free download of Debian http://www.debian.org/distrib/ But if you go up to 1001 you loose the free download. You can never post again. You must stay at 1000  8)

@dln: I tried that on the Linux Forums in order to get my number of posts above 15 so they would let me put url's in my posts. They almost banned me. Said I was posting spam. Can you believe that?

Congratulations! On your car reaching a 100,000 miles, that is a meaningful mile stone.
My 1st semi truck reached 1,400,000 miles before I sold it, my second truck is at 666,000 miles.
Oh and congratulations on your post count, if it makes you happy, I'm all smiles. :D

Well done, and I for one do not think you wasted my time with your vain and frivolous narcissism. dilberts_left_nut on the other hand, well yes.

Cheers

From what I can tell, you achieved this "milestone" in a remarkably short period of time. 1.41 posts per day. Be nice if we could search by member and see if anyone is more active than that.

Anywho, to honour this achievement, I take you back to December of 2008, for your very first post:

I've been using Lenny for a couple of months now. The only issue I have is with Iceweasle and the version of flash player. I hope the newly revised Debian license will make for peace between them and Mozilla. Ubuntu's Firefox is state of the art."

For what it's worth, you can get these stats for yourself and any other user.

If you click on "User Control Panel", you should see something like this:

Code: Select all

Total posts:4327 | Show your posts
(3.21 posts per day / 1.42% of all posts)
Apparently, I'm more active than I thought. Anyhow, that's your own posts.

Now click on a user's name. Here's you, for example:

Code: Select all

Total posts:221 | Search user’s posts
(0.07% of all posts / 0.33 posts per day)
Get to work!

I just took a look at my first post - I was so wet behind the ears I didn't know saving your home partition wouldn't save the userlist(and that was just three years ago!). Before this, it seems I average 5.94 posts a day.
