Here's one of mine. Obviously I'm rather hairier than that fine young woman and I've put on some weight lately but I hope I can still excite a few of you.

Special effects thanks to Nokia and all those people who have scratched the glass and left greasy thumbprints on my phone's camera lens. I'd also like to thank the producers, the distributors, the caterers, the kid who delivered the skunkweed to my trailer, and all my fans *sob*

disclaimer: my nipples are not now, nor have they ever been, members of the communist party or sexual organs, though I do keep trying.

That would certainly be your prerogative, personally, I would not wish to banned from such entertaining content...(see Julian67's post above) over something so silly. I fully agree with your second point.

@Julian67.....Now that's offensive, by anyone's standard  ...Oh, and stay away from my heifers! :x

But I like wasting my time! *stomps foot*

I was forum-banned not IP-banned.

I can't look at those man-tits without grimacing. I finally understand why I was banned. I apologize.

Not sure what all the other rules are good for. That one would make it all nice and easy for everyone.
(ok, it sounds a bit odd if there is nothing else... as if one would have missed the last few hundred years. Hence people tend to put it somewhere between some nicer stuff. Say what you want: it is way more easy then all the rest of the rules).

if this thread will not stop i will start with a rant about Stirner...
y`all know how it looks like if i get in my mood... be warned.
Yep, really only need one rule. The rest are superfluous.
As for a Stirner rant, I think that would be delightful. If you could tie it in to GNU ideology or something it may not even be too off-topic for off-topic.

Nadir just made a most excellent point in a PM...what other forum could you have 3 pages of posts debating a mod's decision? Most forums would have shut down this train-wreck & banned us all, just as an object lesson...  Now, I'm gonna load up the ol' shotgun with rock salt & go see if Julian67 is asneakin' into me pasture! :x

Soul, my main point was that it will not be of much use to close the thread.
The thing will come up, immediatly, at several other places.
Debian, the project, can be astonishing stubborn.
Same goes for its users, and they got a lot of phantasy when it comes to that.

And JohnDeere, i always make excellent points, though i don't realize it at first glance.

The Stirner story is short: whenever people speak of community or higher goals: be warned.

and
To be clear here, what I removed was an animated pic of human sexual organs. However, even if it had been of some other animal I likely would have removed that as well.
Here's the big news: breasts are not sexual organs! They are breasts! The sexual organs of the human female are a couple of feet south of the breasts.
What you seem to have missed here is that the picture being referd to in the post you are quoting is that of sexual organs. The picture of the breast were in another thread that I removed later and were posted there in direct defiance of my restating the forum rules, thus trying to see just how far one could push the staff here before something was done about it.

This is a technical forum and not an art forum. While many men don't care if one posts pics of them undressed, many women do find it to be sexist and degrading to have someone post pictures of nude or mostly nude women. In fact this is one of the many reasons the Debian women do not attend many of the Linux functions. If you don't believe me please have a quick search with your search engine referring to the Debian women and sexual harassment they feel they suffer at the Linux functions. I believe Nadir has a good link for it if you come up short. This forum does not wish to promote male shovanisim or sexist attitudes. No one here should be put down, demeaned or harassed because of their gender, location, ethnic background, religion or a multitude of other possible things.

This forum is open to children as well as adults and should be acceptable should either be viewing content here. While the content I have removed from the forum has not offended me personally, I would not have wanted my grandson or grand daughter coming across it should they need information related to Debian at some point.

Should the forum members wish to petition the forum staff to enable ratings and prohibit children under a certain age from viewing the forum, then it would be more acceptable to let some things slide. Why a technical forum would need such measures is not clear to me as the content here should be about Debian and not of some nude or partly nude person. There is no real need for profanity to be used here either thus making this forum unacceptable for viewing by minors. I guess if one does not have children they might not understand such things and maybe a few others just don't care.

AM I finished reading your post above and I'm hanging my head low....
I think my biggest defense/offense is making light of a serious problem, and it's not working....
My initial intent was to free the inner child, but it seems that I see more of the spoiled brat within rather than the behaving child..

I'm a new member here. I thought maybe someone would be interested in the comments of a newcomer watching this incident. Maybe not though. No hard feelings. But to me, the worst thing about this incident is the precedent that it establishes. As long as this thread exists, you kinda have to accommodate people who get banned for violating your rules and then re-register to come back and complain about it for days. Rules and punishment not only need to be applied fairly, but also consistently. To me, re-registering and posting a single additional post (starting this thread) should have been justification for a permanent ban (by IP if possible). Otherwise, the inmates are running the asylum. Of course do what you want. It's your forum, and I'm still sort of an outsider.

Hear, hear....+10

A week's banning is a remarkably light punishment for a blatantly provocative and defiant act. Coming back under another name is childish. as I said, take your lumps & move on.

After being more or less away from the forums for several months, it was kind of a surprise to find what seemed like a different 'tone' here -- and I'm sure it's a tone most everyone recognizes: the hyperactive webkiddies with their high volume of low quality postings. In retrospect I think it may have been manilatox who singlehandedly created that perception. I remember a couple days ago, seeing some of his replies on a thread about role playing games -- I literally laughed out loud when he boasted of being a practioner of Krav Maga and Kali  -- thinking, "This probably isn't going to end well."

Anyway, it's good to see that order and balance may be restored to the Debian forums, which is a very unique online community. You hate to see a moderator have to step in, but IMO Absent Minded handled it very well. And besides, the vitality and sense of unity of all tribal organizations needs to be refreshed now and then by vanquishing a few enemies, spreading their entrails out for all to see, and for the buzzards and wild dogs to feast upon. :)

OK, carry on now....
