Just wondering, sometimes it happens that the possibility of using the "spoiler" option turns to be a useful tool. For instance, let's say you want to write something off topic, you simply put it as spoiler. Another reason is for example if you want to write a thread and there are informations not strictly necessary, they may be needed as they may be not. Having the possibility to chose if showing them or not may help the reader. I think that it may increase the "readability" of certain posts. It may be just a detail, but I guess that it may be helpful. What I can say is that it would be for me.
