Whither SSL?

Why, with such an advanced OS and complete FOSS software, does this board not support SSL?

Only one or two tweaks. If the php guy doesn't know how, we can help here.

It's a relatively frequent request (see this post, for example), and I suppose it's just intertia + lack of time that prevents it from happening. (Nothing wrong with asking again though. Good luck.)

Please, at least encrypt transmission during login of forum username/password and also uploading/downloading private messages. EFF says that if done properly, SSL adds little to the monetary cost.
