There are quite a few howto's, and many thanks to the people who devoted their time to write them.
I have a suggestion. A locked thread on top with a list of the howtos, with links if possible. You can even vote which is the best howto if there are more than one.
Is there a way to add a search engine within the section? This could be applied to all sections.

Re: Howto, but where? Does it exist?
How about organising the How-to section into a small number of categories, instead of the current method of listing threads by date of last post? It would make finding how-tos easier. Nothing too complicated. Perhaps something like Hardware, Desktop, Multimedia and Programming.

linuxquestions has an excellent Howto section on this order. debianuserforums.org has a cool way to handle Howto also.makh wrote:This will surely help.Randicus wrote:How about organising the How-to section into a small number of categories, instead of the current method of listing threads by date of last post? Are you referring to the use of two sections? One for the how-tos themselves and one for discussion about them.62chevy wrote: debianuserforums.org has a cool way to handle Howto also.

Yes because the howto is not moving around that much and doesn't get all cluttered with others opinions but you can still read them if you want to.
