One HP Laserjet P1005 printer is connected to my Debian Wheezy box through USB.

I added below lines to /etc/cups/cupsd.conf

Code: Select all
# Enable printer sharing and shared printers.
Browsing On
BrowseOrder allow,deny
BrowseAllow all
BrowseRemoteProtocols CUPS
BrowseAddress @LOCAL
BrowseLocalProtocols CUPS dnssd
DefaultAuthType Basic

/etc/cups/cupsd.conf
Code: Select all
LogLevel warn
MaxLogSize 0
SystemGroup lpadmin
# Allow remote access
Port 631
Listen /var/run/cups/cups.sock
# Enable printer sharing and shared printers.

On Windows XP, select add printer, then choose network printer. Add the printer address on Debian Wheezy server. For instance, here is my printer address.
Code: Select all
http://192.168.1.100:631/printers/HP_LaserJet_P1005

And Windows will start printer driver installation.
