Hi everyone
For my latest tutorial, I took a simple concept (that has been done before, I know) and then took it to the extreme: "How to make Debian look and behave like the latest Xubuntu 14.04".
I say extreme, because I have detailed over 5 parts how to:
Install Debian (testing/Jessie) using the Net Install method
How to add Xorg, audio and XFCE desktop
How to get the theme exactly like Xubuntu
Where to get applications from that aren't in the Debian repos
Alternative applications for those wanting a lighter installation
How to prepare the system for remastering
How to remaster your system and create an installable ISO.
I dare say, some of the things I suggest could be done better, so it is a work in progress and I would really welcome constructive comments either here or directly on the blog and I'll incorporate them into the tutorial.
Even if you don't want the Xubuntu theme or you want to stick to the stable wheezy base, the steps used here will help you create your own custom Debian installation using XFCE as the Desktop Environment.

Re: How to make Debian look like Xubuntu *from scratch*
What is the point? If I want my system to look and behave like Xubuntu, why should I install Debian and configure it to emulate Xubuntu? It makes infinitely more sense to use Xubuntu."How to make Debian look and behave like the latest Xubuntu 14.04".
