I am new to this forum as well as with Linux. I (nearly) successfully installed debian to my computer, with gnome and all that but I cant connect to Internet for some reason...
I have a VIA PCI 10/100Mb fast ethernet adapter with an Alcatel speedtouch 511e, so I installed the module Via-rhine wich seems to work fine (if I ping my modem to 10.0.0.138 i get a response) and try to configure my connection with pppoeconf. Unfortunately when I try to connect plog gives me the following error message: 'PAP authentificatiion failed'.
So, being newbie, I dont have any single clue about I did wrong. Please help me
