Dual boot (win10, UEFI mobo)

#1 Post by infestor »

I am new to both UEFI and win10. in my older systems with BIOS and MBR installing debian after win7 was without any problems.
anything that i need to take care installing debian with grub? (already had installed win10 on SSD. debian will be installed there, too)

i have secure boot and fast boot features of UEFI already disabled.

I don't use Windows 10 myself, but assume, it requires the disk to be formatted with GPT. If that is the case, you must make sure UEFI can boot a GPT formatted disk in legacy mode. Some brands are allergic to Linux, so be careful before removing what you have working.
Debian == { > 30, 000 packages }; Debian != systemd
The worst infection of all, is a false sense of security!
It is hard to get away from CLI tools.

will do!

but a quick question before: might there be a conflict among GRUB and windows boot manager? or just GRUB takes over and the system will -highly likely- boot like ye good ol' days? :)
