Debian on Hyper-V 2016: Secure Boot

Postby exonix » 2017-02-09 09:03

Hi,
MS announced, that on Hyper-V 2016 is possible to install a Linux with Secure Boot.
But it looks like that Debian 8.7.1 still doesn't support it (is unsigned)

Do you know when Debian will support the Secure Boot ?

thank you!

It does not, secure boot support was dropped at the last minute before Debian 9.0 came out

https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-a ... 00013.html

This is a Debian thing, and most likely many other Linux OS's will work. Notice this from the above post:
It's possible that Secure Boot support could be introduced at some
point in stretch's lifetime.
however, I believe you can self-sign the kernel image some how.

see this Greg Kroah-Hartman post:

i'm sad... i had been waiting for this feature for the long time. will wait for next release and hope Secure Boot will support there.
P.s.: I don't need other Linux. I prefer Debian.
