Debian GNOME Installation

#1 Post by lclarke »

After installing Gnome successfully, when I turn my machine on, it presents me with the login page with my user accounts which is obviously using the GNOME UI however after logging in, it doesn't work, it presents me with an incredibly simple UI I have not seen before that has a customisable bar and such. Any idea why it isn't working when I log into my account?

Your problem is described in an unbelievably vague manner. What version of debian and gnome are you referring to? What method of installation did you follow? Would it be possible for you to provide us with a picture that depicts the issue at hand?

If i understood correctly, you installed gnome after an initial minimal installation. Should that be the case, more steps are needed besides the graphical environment.

In any case, a succinct explanation would help a lot.
