What is Parrot
Parrot is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian and focused on Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, Programming and Privacy protection.

Also, i tried running the text installer but it says that i'm missing an initrd.gz file and stops.

same issue with missing initrd.gz ? which iso is 'stock debian'
