hey
i'm installing debian 3.1r0 from dvd
when boot the debian installer loads, then i select language, keyboard location etc.
then it start loading drivers and stuff, when it gets to ide-atap or something similar (the cdrom bit) it stops ther for a few minute then the red loading box closes and i've left with a blue screen with a grey command prompt on the bottom
i can type stuff there but it wont respond to it,nor does the installer go to next stage of install
i've installed with this dvd copy no problem on my other comp
any help is very appreciated
my system:
AMD Sempron 3000+, ABIT NF8, 2x512mb ddr400, 2x Maxtor 80gb hdd, ATI Radeon 9600xt, sound blaster live, pioneer dvd burner

I have the same problem
I got the same problem with AMD 64 Sempron 2800+ and abit motherboard. How did you solve the problem? Does the latest stable release have the 2.6 core.
