Debian Setup Script or Program - Post Install [Solved]

Postby hal8000 » 2017-05-03 13:33

Last night I installed DEbian Jessie 8 (KDE) AMD64bit from CD using text install.

My Laptop is Acer 5734Z and wifi id Broadcom 802.11/b/g/n
I'll get exact chipset from lcpci shortly.

The install needed firmware to load for the wifi chipset so as a result I have no network.

I can gain access to network via ethernet manually bringing up eth0, adding gw and
DNS server.

What I cannt find is the name of the install program or script that runs from the CD in text mode.

https://www.debian.org/releases/jessie/ ... ex.html.en

I had a look on the guide and cannot find it.
All other hardware is working just network.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me to correct information or link

Debian generally does tell what firmware is missing near the start of the installer.
