I need a help to install Debian 8.8 in Raid 0.

#1 Post by EverestRJ »

Hello,

I am relatively new to the linux world and have tested 3 distributions for a while, Ubuntu, OpenSuse and Fedora.
I'm currently using Fedora and I'm really enjoying it, but now I'd like to use Debian certainly as definitive.
I have 3 HDDs on my PC, a 1.5GB which is just a storage and two western digital caviar black HDDs of 1TB in raid 0 (adding 2TB just for operating systems).
I have always used Raid 0 hardware like Windows 10 side by side with Ubuntu, OpenSuse and Fedora without any problems, everyone can easily detect the raid, but with Debian I can not detect Raid by expert install or in graphical mode.
I do not want to lose the boot loader and Windows 10, because I have installed programs and files on this system in raid 0, I just want to replace the partition that contains Fedora by Debian, but by repeating the installer does not detect Raid 0.
Taking into consideration my hardware anyone could teach me how can I replace Fedora with Debian in Raid 0? Without losing windows 10 it is side by side. In Fedora and OpenSuse it's super cool to do that.

I followed this tutorial https://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SataRaid
But when I get to step 4 my Raid does not appear in the list, and it does not appear inside the other listed options, only my PenDrive and my 1.5tb storage appears, the raid with the two 1TB HDs does not appear.
What did I have to do?
