Re: Cd rom problem during installation
But , what is the problem ?
What cd-rom issue are you referring to ?
And I have had no issue with putting it on a USB device either.
Unebootin does not work for Debian.

Re: Cd rom problem during installation
Oh good, just what we need. Yet another thread about this issue.
Re: Cd rom problem during installation
The problem occurs at the start of the installation process by selecting graphical installation. I get to pick language, keyboard layout and country then after clicking the continue button, the installer says:
There was a problem reading data from the CD-ROM. Please make sure it is in the drive. You should check the integrity of your CD-ROM.

Oh, so you mean this issue ? Are you using a Debian Live image ? :
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/relea ... so-hybrid/
ago, it had not been fixed yet. So you might want to try downloading a new image.
How ever, using unebootin does not work, and I don't know about "rufus",..
there are many things that can cause problems, but when the OP gives practically
no info,details,...IE: what image is being used,..exactly how it was burned, to a CD or is is a USB device,..etc,.... it is hard to guess at what the issue might be.

Supposedly it has been fixed, but if you downloaded the image a few days4. Installation from the live image boot menu does not work
Status: Fixed in 9.0.1
There is a bug in the Packages files included on the live images, causing the included Debian Installer code to fail with the error "There was an error reading data from the CD-ROM. Please make sure it is in the drive. If retrying does not work, you should check the integrity of your CD-ROM."

Re: Cd rom problem during installation
It was downloaded last night and date June 20, 2017. So I think I am using the latest version?
No I see that I have Debian-live-9.0.0-amd....
And now see on Debian site Debian-live-9.0.1-amd..
First I downloaded by mistake a free version
Then downloaded non free only to find out it has a bug
Need to download again?
Apparently during installation I can jump to a shell and mount manually, can it be done?

You could try it.Apparently during installation I can jump to a shell and mount manually, can it be done?
But it would probably be better just to get the new image,...
