Hello all,
I've done a standard upgrade from Wheezy to Jessie and my system wont boot. I get the error:
Loading kernel module for network device with CAP_SYS_MODULE (depreciated) Use CAP_NET_ADMIN and Alias netdev-bond0
and then it hangs on "Failed to start login service"
I did the following for the upgrade. Checked all packages where not on hold
changed sources to Jessie
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get dist-upgrade
rebooted
Any ideas? Is it my NIC team thats causing the boot problem? How can I resolve this.
thanks,
Rob

HELP Wheezy to Jessie update wont boot USE CAP_NET_ADMIN
Re: HELP Wheezy to Jessie update wont boot USE CAP_NET_ADMIN
Looks like I've got loads of packages that require configuring. Looking at the last screen before I rebooted I noticed dpkg returned an error code.
I can get into recovery mode and I get network access but because resolvconf is not installed correctly I can resolve DNS. Whats best approach to force dpkg to continue?

Re: HELP Wheezy to Jessie update wont boot USE CAP_NET_ADMIN
Thanks,
managed to get the rest of the packages installed and rebooted system is up.
I can't seem to get libapache2 configured. I've tried forcing and it errors out. From my logs I see proftp and apache fail to start.
root@sosaria:/home/rcraig# dpkg --audit
The following packages are only half configured, probably due to problems
configuring them the first time. The configuration should be retried using
dpkg --configure <package> or the configure menu option in dselect:
libapache2-mod-php5.6 server-side, HTML-embedded scripting language (Apache 2
root@sosaria:/home/rcraig# apt-get -f install libapache2-mod-php5.6
