Hi everybody
Want to try Debian 9 liveUSB on an ASUS X205TA.
Created liveUSB with unetbootin and everything OK : Debian boot on the usb and I can choose live at grub menu.
Problem : No wifi card detected.
I read about Debian install on this machine :https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebia ... A#Debian_9 and try
I add bin firmware and txt file (cf. link above) when Debian is live, but don't know how to tell Debian to "load" that in command line
Is it the right way to do that to get wifi on live session ?
Thanks for your time/help.

Nope, unetbootin is an obsolete piece of **** and does _not_ work with Debian ISO images.micka wrote:Created liveUSB with unetbootin and everything OK
It doesn't actually affect your non-free firmware requirements but it will b0rk your install.

Thanks to Wheelerof4te and Head_on_a_Stick for your replies
1. Using "image cd including firmware" (nonfree) loads brcmfmac43340-sdio.bin
2. But failed to load brcmfmac43340-sdio.txt (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=821400
==> To get it works :
1. cp /sys/firmware/efi/efivars/nvram-74b00bd9-805a-4d61-b51f-43268123d113 /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac43340-sdio.txt
2. modprobe -v -r brcmfmac
3. modprobe -v brcmfmac
(un-loading and re-loading the kernel module)
>> Head_on_a_Stick, what do you suggest to replace it ? What is a good way to do that ?

You actually can't "close" the thread only an administrator can do that, what you could do is go back and edit the subject line on the first page and replace "[Newbie]" with "solved" or "[solved]"to indicate you got the answer you needed. That can help others to find it if they have a similar question.micka wrote:PS: How can I close the topic ?
