Can't start an xfce session after upgrading to gdm3 3.28

#1 Post by debianmarty »

I am running Debian Unstable and after upgrading to gdm3 version 3.28 I cannot start an xfce session. Choosing that and entering my password brings me back to the login screen. Xfce is the only desktop that has this problem. Any ideas?

Drop gdm for a bit, I've had to switch from GNOME back to dwm on my Arch box, the 3.28 transition looks painful.

Does XFCE work if you start it from a TTY?

How about the other display managers?
