NVidia Drivers and bbswitch

#1 Post by ViR0 »

Hello everyone, recently I decided to switch to Debian, and I still have some troubles with my installation.

I installed Stretch 9 from the official iso. During the installation it asked me some additional firmware which i added and it all went smooth.
After the install it booted normally and apparently it was alright I explored a bit and installed Firefox Quantum. I turned off and the day after when I turned on it froze on boot.

I made another post http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=136349 giving the fault to Firefox.
Than i reinstall it, boot it and reboot it. The problem was still there. I tried to follow the indications from the previous post

Code: Select all

tee /proc/acpi/bbswitch <<<ON
(i had an error like "there is no bbswitch file")

Adding options bbswitch load_state=1
to /etc/modprobe.d but it is a directory not a file

can someone give me an indication on how can i fix my installation?
