#1 Post by ticketman »

Since upgrading to buster, I have lost tortoisehg.

Anyone know if this package is coming back?

Best I could find was this :

Did you read that bug report? It says one of the dependencies was dropped in Buster and is replaced by a new one. The maintainer just had to change the dependency in the package, and the updated one is in Sid now. I guess it should move to Buster soon.
Dear Maintainer,

Your package tortoisehg depends against the python-gobject
transitional package.

We would like to drop this transitional package for buster.

Could you please switch to either python-gobject-2 (if your package
is using the old python binding for GObject) or to python-gi (if your
package is using the new gobject-introspection one).

Thanks sunrat, guess I need to be patient!

What worried me is there is no mention of tortoise in

Well, it came back to Buster, and then went away again with Bullseye!

Maybe some hope here:

Anyone wanting TortoiseHg, download from :
https://www.mercurial-scm.org/downloads
No need to build as it is written in Python.

Will it work if required python modules have been removed from Bullseye, then?
