Thanks !
I have a notebook computer Thinkpad T420. Running Debian testing, has never been a problem.
Now, I upgraded the Thinkpad, removed the CD-ROM drive, connected the HDD to the drive, and installed a solid-state disk(SSD),In the original hard drive. Solid state drives are available in the original Debian system, no problem, and WINDOWS 7 can be installed on the solid state hard disk, and successfully started.
Now I want to install Debian9.6 on SSD, with USB Sticker boot and install Debian system on SSD, but restart the system, to boot the Debian on SSD failed. can only boot Debian on HDD. Can't start from solid state hard disk.
how to solve this problem?
the SSD information:

Re: how does install debian on ssd?
Where did you instruct the installer to place the bootloader?leeshasr wrote:I want to install Debian9.6 on SSD, with USB Sticker boot and install Debian system on SSD, but restart the system, to boot the Debian on SSD failed. can only boot Debian on HDD. Can't start from solid state hard disk.
What happens when you try to boot the SSD, exactly? What do you see on the screen?
Please also post the output of this command from your working system:
Code: Select all
efibootmgr -v
deadbang
