Fresh install of Debian 9.8 on VirtualBox produces error

#1 Post by LegionOfHell »

I just installed Debian stable 9.8 on VirtualBox but when I am trying to shutdown or reboot I get the following error :

https://ibb.co/vhbwzm6

A stop job is running for Session c1 of user Debian-gdm
A stop job is running for user manager for UUID 115

I also get this error at startup:

https://ibb.co/JCkm4vs

Failed to start Set console font and keymap ...

Is the problem VirtualBox ? or Will I have these errors on my laptop too ?

Many Thanks

I managed to fix the first problem by logging out first and then shutting down or rebooting ... after this, All subsequent shutdowns worked fine.

For the second problem, I ran the following command:

sudo systemctl restart console-setup.service

Did you wait 90 seconds to see if the shutdown would continue after the timeout?

Or try pressing <ctrl>+<alt>+<delete> more than seven times in two seconds to force a reboot?
