Try the netinstall image instead.

Off-topic for this thread but smartphone tethering is easy, just connect the phone & list the interfaces:

Code: Select all

ip link
Then bring the phone interface up and assign some addresses:

Code: Select all

# ip link set $interface up
# dhclient $interface
Replace $interface with the actual name of the interface you found from the first command.

Hi ...i miss something...
does tasksel s on the debian-8.11.1-i386-netinst.iso cd ?
more info...the pc is a pentium 4 2.8 ghz and is at home...i download cd and dvd at work with an high speed connection...now at home i have debian-8.11.1-i386-xfce-CD-1.iso file and s debian-8.11.1-i386-DVD-1.iso .... tomorrow i will buy some dvd to create a dvd installation media .... first,i create a netinst cd and it function ,then sure all was ok a wrote over the existing cd ,the xfce image and i delete the old netinst iso file ....the installation goes fine ...without reading errors or retry from dvd ...it seems impossible they put an unbootable distro on the download page,i suspect some file corrupted on the cd another idea will be put the installation iso file on a usb stick and try to boot,i tried with live usb install, but it try to create a live usb and does not boot, does you know an open source or free win xp utility to create an usb installation pen ?
thanks in advance

Hi let me know ...to understand
i was using linux 10 years ago ,then i switched again to win xp
i retuned to linux with this debian installation
if i remeber ...to modify Xorg ...i have to edit a file named xorgconf (or something like)
now ,does debian 9.9 automatically recognize new added graphic cards ?
or i have to modify xorgconf and then reboot, and if it fail edit again the file with failsafe boot ?

You should edit the header of your first post in the thread, and add [SOLVED] to the front of the header. No one else can do it for you.
