connect wpa2 wifi problem after mini install

Postby FateRover » 2019-07-20 06:56

i mini install debian by iso file, mini install which mean didnt install any de and even xorg ,then i want build debian ,the first step is to connect network ,but here comes the problem:
I only have wifi net work, my wifi card is wlp2s0
so
Code: Select all
sudo ip link set wlp2s0 up
iwconfig wlp2s0 essid "mywifi" key  mywificode
dhclient wlp2s0
.
but the system cannot connect to mywifi,i search on google and it tells
Code: Select all
iwconfig wlp2s0 essid "mywifi" key  mywificode
only support wep mode ,so how can i connect to wpa wifi? wpa_supplicant is needed but mini install didnt contain that command

I am afraid, you cannot.
You should change wi-fi security protocol to old deprecated WEP (on your mini-router, access point) or use cabled connection...

ok.i just post to make sure whether i missed some wifi configure that lead this problem or not .
there is one more question :i install debian with netinstall.iso which ask my wifi password during installration and wpa wifi works ,why during installration ,it can connect wpa wifi but after reboot ,with tty ,it cant connect wpa wifi ,is it some temp file during installration that make wlp2s0 work well?
Hope debian make another choice(only install wpa_supplicanta or basic net work tools) on "select software to install " step

Maybe I was wrong.
What is your wi-fi card hardware?

It probably needs firmware-iwlwifi (non-free) package...

You need to have iwlwifi installed. https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/use ... rs/iwlwifi
Have you added contrib and non-free to your sources list?

For wpa2 there are, for example,
https://hev.cc/2654.html
and

i do download firmware.zip and unzip al fill to firmware folder in my usb driver before installration so that the guide GUI recognize my AC card and it did load my card ,ask for my wpa wifi password, connect to wif, download the basic files for installration, but after reboot , it cant connect wpa wifi by commanderline .is it just temporary uesed for load AC card and actually not "installed" during installration? is it mean i should install it a twice time manully after the mini instalration complete?
