I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Projectors are no different from regular monitors connection-wise. They even reply with EDID during initialization. Unless it is a really old projector with coaxial analog video input.
This is one of those questions where the OP even didn't bother to think a little before asking. Just gimme-gimme, also qualifies as a help vampire.

I never tested it before and I asked because I want to rent a Data projector.
