Help with issues regarding installation of Debian

Local Repository

Postby karthickitslm » 2020-12-17 08:21

Hello All,

I'm trying to make use of the local repository by pulling the debian packages from a server installed with CentOS.

Is there a technical problem with respect to pulling the packages ??

I'm trying to understand whether we need have a repository server as Debian server ?

Any help/suggestions would be really helpful.

Thanks.

The only reason for downloading all the Debian packages locally is lack of internet access. The preferred method is to just download from the Debian repository as needed, because the local repository will become outdated as new package versions are released. There is no technical problem with downloading all the thousands of Debian packages, other than waste of bandwidth.
Take my advice, I'm not using it.
