keepnote installation on bullseye fails

#1 Post by carmima »

Visiting KeepNote, http://keepnote.org/index.shtml
I downloaded the .deb package, but the installation leads to unmet dependencies:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
keepnote : Depends: python (>= 2.5)
Depends: python-central (>= 0.5.6) but it is not installable
Depends: python-gtk2 but it is not installable
Depends: python-glade2 but it is not installable
python2 : PreDepends: python2-minimal (= 2.7.18-2) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libpython2-stdlib (= 2.7.18-2) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

sudo apt --fix-broken install
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Correcting dependencies... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
keepnote

Is there a way to install keepnote or will I have to find a keepnote alternative?
Can someone suggest a good keepnote alternative? I like hierarchical or XML note taking apps.
Thanks a Lot for your help/suppport/answers.

Python 2 is slowly going away so anything based on it will also. Time to find an alternative. https://alternativeto.net/software/keep ... form=linux

I've been using Zim desktop wiki for many years. Perfect for the notes I keep.
