Hi there,
I am setting up my new computer with bulleyes and xfce.
I need the canadian french layout because it is the only way to enter ùìôÀÊ and other accented symbols çÇ and so on.
The only way I found to get the keyboard layout I used to know and I need is with a command line:
THIS WORKS:
setxkbmap "ca(fr)"
or
setxkbmap ca -variant fr
I tried everything else, but it seems that french canada is missing.
localectl list-x11-keymap-variants ca
eng
fr-dvorak
fr-legacy
ike
multi
multi-2gr
multix
the same keyboards are listed in the applications/setting/keyboard applet.
the applet list the same 7 options, "french canada" is also missing there.
can someone tell me how to setup my system with canada french keyboard ?
I would really like to enable left alt + left shift keyboard layout switching between english/US and ca(fr)
thanks for your help
