Stable and Testing Installations and Missing Firmware

#1 Post by arnuld »

I tried to install Debian through 3 different ISOs:
3rd ISO failed - installer failed to create a partition on the disk. During installation from first 2 ISOs I got this messsage:
Some of your hardware requires non-free firmware to operate...

The missing firmware files are:

ath10k/pre-cal-pci-0000:03:00.0.bin
ath10k/cal-pci-0000:03:00.0.bin

Load missing firmware from removable media?
I could find sources of these packages but can't see any .bin:

https://packages.debian.org/sid/firmware-atheros
https://packages.debian.org/sid/firmware-amd-graphics

I chose "no" (to firmware) with Buster installation. Still, debian configured Wi-Fi fine during installation, now I am stuck with an installation which freezes at Starting GNOME display manager and Ctrl-Alt-F1 (or 2/3/4/5/6/7) (or Alt-F1 etc) does not give me a tty either. This is my laptop:

I am wondering if there was a way to repair installation so that I can get into GDM and then GNOME?
