If you have installed Grub with Fedora Core to /hda1, then you can add an entry to your Debian Grub menu.lst like this:

title Fedora Core
root (hd0,0)
chainloader +1

This will chainload to the bootmanager (Grub) located on another partition.

The way I set up my dual boots when I try a new distro is this:

After installing the second system(debian for you) just boot it. Mount the partition where you installed the first system(fedora).

Go to the /boot on the fedora partition and copy the vmlinuz en initrd file (/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-1.667smp, /boot/initrd-2.6.9-1.667.img) to your /boot on your debian system. No need to change anything else in the config files this way.

Hope this works for you.
