#1 Post by daemon »

hi everyone,

after installing debian 3.1 from binary cd, when starting it can not load the
gnome gui and it say "xfree server is not configure correctly" and then the whole screen is redirected to terminal window and looking for login.
i'm using sis50 built in video card, ps/2 mouse, 15 inch compaq monitor.

if i'll use AGP Video card what option im gonna choose since the installer
say "ISA"
"PCI :0:16:0"
"i can not remember here but i'm sure its not AGP"

pls help

For agp you should enter:
PCI:1:0:0
I don't know if your card us supported by the sis driver:
man sis
lists the supported cards.
vesa is a generic driver that works with just about any card (and performance follows).
