Hello all,
Currently looking at deploying Debian via a network install, at current I keep all installation sources on a samba share (may end up having to setup a tftp server at some stage ) and would like to be able to install debian via a samba mount and a modified network install disk. So, I guess my question is does anyone know of something similar which may already have been done or how it may be achieved.
Alternatively, I'd like to kick off an install using a single floppy disk, where everything is read from a samba mount, but that would obviously be much more tricky.

Debian NetInstall via Samba Share
Re: Debian NetInstall via Samba Share
To the best of my knowledge, the installation from a samba volume is not supported, you need an ftp or http server. For information on automated installs you might want to check out the section 4.7 of the installation manual. That's a relatively new feature, so it is available in recent d-i versions only.Dave wrote:Hello all,
