I installed Squeeze on an HP mini 110 yesterday using USB. There were some irregularities. I'm not sure if this will help you since what I did to make the USB was similar to what is in your first link. In another Linux installation, as root I did # zcat boot.img.gz > /dev/sdf1 (sdf1 being my USB location) and then copied debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso onto it, as per the instructions in
http://www.debian.org/releases/squeeze/ ... 03.html.enI used the daily build from October 25.
I take it yours boots but then gets stuck. When I boot with mine the bios for some reason lists two USBs as options for booting. One didn't actually boot and the other did. That gave me a Debian installer menu. If I selected either the regular or the graphical install it froze. I found though that I could install using the option for expert install (I'm no expert). That gave me a Squeeze installation. But so far it has no network connection, though it did for the install, and there are a few other issues. There must be some issues with hardware detection or drivers or configuration in the current installer.
