problems with sata
The SATA modules should already be in the kernel, so there is no need to download anything.
Are you trying to install Debian on a SATA drive? If so try using the Net Installer and boot the CD with the 'linux26' parameter. The CD then boots with a 2.6.x kernel and it should find your SATA drive.

SATA
It is a Packard Bell AMD64 box.
In XP I cannot determine the SATA controller at all. I looked inthe devices but not listed, it seems it is converted to IDE? Seems strange. Not listed in BIOS AMI either.
IS there any way around this?
Also where do I get ISOs of AMD64? The Debian site does not have this. The Alioth is bits ' n pieces. Do I take it that this is not ready?
