UEFI boot problems

Postby M-374 LX » 2014-12-23 23:41

When installing Debian Jessie for the first time on an UEFI x64 PC, I first tried using a logical partition on the HDD as "EFI partition". This resulted in GRUB being unable to locate normal.mod and the OS unable to boot. The problem was solved when I tried again with the EFI partition as a primary one.

I suggest to modify the installer so that it does not allow the EFI partition to be logical.

Sounds good, but I don't think many Debian devs frequent this forum.

Maybe try the mailing lists or submit a bug report?
