add syncBackup to jessie repo ?

#1 Post by patrick013 »

An awful good little program, just a few dependencies needed,
to rsync a filesystem.

Here's a direct link to more info and the source code.

syncBackup | Darhon Software

thanks for taking a look.

The program developer ,author is the one that does that, if they want too.
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/dist ... e-deb.html
At least that is how it looks to me, but I don't really know much about that.
If "Darhon Software" wanted to make it available via the repositories they could.
It may be they do not want to do that.

Hi,

No not in any way. I see I can do a RFP to Debian (request for package) thru the
reportbug repo program. The source code is on their website, they claim they
want GNU License Version 3, which is good. So almost ready to install reportbug
and submit the RFP.

What do you think ?

thanks for the response.

Well you could try if you wanted to.

You won't be able to get it into jessie because no new packages are introduced to Debian Stable but you may be able to persuade a somebody to maintain your package in stretch and have it introduced to Debian 9 when stretch is transferred to Debian Stable in about two years time.
