Thanks for mentioning the article. I have been reading about ZFS during the last couple of months, when other GNU/Linux distributions included it, and thought that Debian would not get it soon. I remember using Solaris years ago and being surprised by the snapshots/de-duplication integration in Nautilus; wondering when we would see something similar in GNU/Linux. That day seems closer now.

btrfs has most of the capabilities of ZFS and doesn't use as much memory.
Also, the ZFS licence is still GPL-incompatible:
