I am running the pi camera and want to know if I can make the output of the camera my desktop image. The camera is running constantly and I am using software to capture a short video whenever a motion sensor is triggered.

It would be nice to see the current camera output on the desktop.

When you say
I...want to know if I can make the output of the camera my desktop image

Are you running a Raspberry Pi and is your desktop image on that? What model of Raspberry Pi?

Have you asked the Raspberry Pi Forum? >>> https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/

What Hardware are you running? What OS are you using?

Interesting idea — have you tried a search engine?

I was intrigued enough to use one on your behalf:

I am running a pi V1 (the one with the four USB ports) running from NOOBS 2.3 and choosing Debian with the pixel system.
