[unstable] grave bug in udisks2

Postby wizard10000 » 2017-08-30 09:29

xpost to /r/debian -

I'd hold off on upgrading Sid for a bit. Bug in title seems to impact most desktop environments and on my Plasma5 installation it takes pretty close to ten minutes to get a partially-functioning desktop.
Black screen, then wallpaper with no panel, no clicking works (krunner does work, though). pcmanfm will work if you wait long enough, I haven't successfully got dolphin started. Except for dolphin, Plasma5 works as expected if you wait long enough. Bug report says Cinnamon and Thunar were also impacted.
If you haven't updated since yesterday it might be a good idea to hold off for a bit.

I saw the bug, but went ahead and updated anyway. It did take a bit longer to get a Desktop than usual, but nothing like you experienced. Hopefully the bug will be fixed on the next update.

Apparently it's fixed with a point release of udisks2 but that release hasn't hit the repos yet; or at least I don't think it has.
