Newbie Developer wants C/C++ RC Bugs

Postby paultopdeb » 2010-01-17 15:20

Hi Guys,

I have been using linux for a while (mostly in the form of Fedora and Ubuntu) but as part of my final year project for uni, i have decided to try and fix as many Release Critical Bugs for packages that use C and C++ (perhaps Python as well) as i can in Debian.

Looking at the Bug Tracking System, there is no easy way to distinguish what packages use what Code.

Basically what im asking is there any easier way to find this out, or would it be a better direction to try and be a maintainer for an orphaned packages that use C or C++

Regards

You can use apt-cache rdepends to find packages that rely directly on libc and libstdc++, though you'd have to manually crosscheck that against the bug tracker.
