And why is it that 'unsupported' .debs from Sun Micro, Opera, Skype have never broken on me and the touted debian backports break ? Because they are professional companies, hiring professional packagers to do a proper job ?

You know somehow i doubt backports made an 'error' 3 times now each time with same large packages . I doubt they adopt the same policy as in debian stable/testing where stuff has to be uploaded COMPLETE.
