Hello, running Debian Wheezy, i believe i've found a bug with plasma-desktop. I just searched the bug reports and couldn't see one describing this, so i would like someone to verify it is consistent on there system too before i report it.
Open up a kde plasma session. Place the panel to the left side of the screen, lock widgets, reboot. Once booted back to kde, the panel is half way down and off the screen and widgets need to be unlocked and the panel right clicked, and panel settings selected, to make it go back to it's proper place.

Tried it with My VM and it worked just fine.
