Just put together a box. I think the signature will pretty much explain. Put Debian 'Etch' network install on for 64bit and it's running great so far.

ericz,
This is a dual core processor, what kernel are you running?
Does Debian see two processors?
What are the bogomips, it will show up in dmesg.
Thanks.

Yes, debian 'etch' net install sees the single physical processor as 2 separate ones.... I go to Applications...System Tools....System Monitor and there are indeed 2 processors.
Also, w/the Asus Crosshair mb there is an included soundcard w/ it's propriatary slot.... funny thing is with Alsaconf, it works too.

I'm planning on upgrading my system next year, it currently has an AMD Athlon 3000+ but I want to take advantage of 64 bit apps and the dual cores.
Debian has worked flawlessly on it from day one, I built it 2 years ago. I want to get into making videos, so I could use a faster processor.
